Welcome to our Sunday Service

We’re glad you’re here!

Whether you’re exploring faith for the first time or seeking a new church home, we’re delighted to have you here. Our doors are open to everyone, and we believe West Zion is a place where you can grow in Christ, connect with others, and find a sense of belonging.

If you’re planning to attend a worship service in person, you may have some questions…

How long does the service last?

We start at 9:15 with a Sunday class where we study and learn together, followed by coffee break at 10:15 and worship service at 10:30. We wrap up by 12:00.

Do I need to dress up?

You will see all types of clothing at our services. Dress as fancy or as casual as you’d like. We are pretty relaxed and we welcome you here!

Is there music or a choir?

We have a simple and small band that plays a mix of contemporary worship and classic hymns. All are welcome to join in with singing, and most do!

What about Communion?

We observe communion on the first Sunday of every month, following Jesus' instructions during the Last Supper. He told His disciples to "do this in remembrance of Me" (Luke 22:19) Everyone who chooses to follow Jesus is welcome to partake, and if you prefer to pass the bread and cup, you are still welcome to be here and enjoy the rest of the service with us.

What about the kids?

During the adult Sunday class, Cornerstone Kids classes are available for Pre-K up to Grade 6, as well as Junior High girls and boys. We welcome all our children into the worship service together with us!

There is a supervised nursery available for the younger kids for all parts of the service (Plan to Protect and Criminal Check required for all our volunteers).

Senior High youth meet with the adults for Sunday classes.

Do you take an offering?

One of the ways we worship is through giving, so offering baskets are passed around during the service. We see it as a practical expression of our faith, but not an obligation. If you’re visiting, please don’t feel pressured to contribute when the basket comes around. Just pass it along and enjoy the service.
